Setting Up a Cart with PayPal
PayPal / Carver shopping cart Before you work with Support FIRST The site owner needs to set up a PayPal account "Website Payments Standard" account not "Payments Pro". Without this done, Carver CANNOT talk to PayPal. Obtain the PDT Identity Token from your PayPal account - follow the steps below. *Once retrieved - please e-mail Britnett Support the PDT TOKEN (long number) as soon as you can. Make sure your email is descriptive - let support know the company name, carver address and domain name. Subject: How to enable PDT and get a PDT token within PayPal NOTE: PDT is only available in "Website Payments Standard" accounts. It is not supported in Personal PayPal accounts. Log on to PayPal.
On the Website Payments Preferences page, there's a section near the top called Auto Return for Website Payments. Set Auto Return to On by clicking its radio button. There's also a Return URL field. When you set Auto Return to On, you must enter a Return URL. Your web store shopping cart does not use that field, so it doesn't matter what URL you enter there. You may as well use the URL of your web site! These fields are shown here:
Farther down the Website Payments Preferences page, there's a section called Payment Data Transfer (PDT). Set Payment Data Transfer to On by clicking its radio button as shown here:
At the bottom of the page, click the Save button. Your PDT Identity Token was also generated - it appears in the message too. The token is not emailed to you, but whenever you need it, simply go to this Website Payments Preferences page and scroll to the Payment Data Transfer section. It will always appear below the PDT On/Off radio buttons, as shown here (in this image, it's blurred out):
Once the cart is set up add a product to your clients site - say a product for 10p - and order it with your credit card. This way you can confirm the order system is working correctly.
